National Family Caregivers Month is a national observance held every November to honor and recognize the millions of family caregivers who support loved ones with chronic illnesses, disabilities, or old age. Spearheaded by the Caregiver Action Network, the month aims to raise awareness about caregiving issues, increase community support for caregivers, and encourage them to prioritize their own well-being.

Purpose

To honor and thank family caregivers for their dedication and recognize the challenges and rewards of caregiving.

Activities

Organizations use the month to provide resources, education, and support for caregivers, while also encouraging the public to show their appreciation.

Themes

Themes have been used to focus on different aspects of caregiving, such as self-care and community connections.

Who it Recognizes

It applies to all family caregivers, including those who care for veterans, individuals with autism, or those with Alzheimer's.
