Jamie Edwards of JME Photography returned as the volunteer photographer this year to safely and distantly capture our models for the 2021 "Lots of Socks" window displays. Photos were taken outside, at locations in Kincardine our models enjoy, participating in some of their favourite outdoor activities.
From sailing Lake Huron and flying a kite on the beach, sightseeing and taking photos at Queens Lookout, to standing under raining leaves in Victoria Park and playing and tobogganing at the Davidson Centre Park, we have a whole new and amazing set of photos for our businesses to display for "Lots of Socks" 2021!
Each year, Kincardine and area businesses decorate their windows in support of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st and compete for the coveted Golden Sock Award.
Our businesses share messages of inclusion and flood the town and surrounding area with colourful sock displays to start conversations and show they support an inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals of all abilities.
Participating businesses are asked to have their window displays complete for viewing by March 15th, 2021 and submit a photo or video of their completed display to cmc@clkd.ca to enter the competition for the coveted Golden Sock award on or before March 19th, 2021.
On March 21st, we invite everyone to wear their brightest, most colourful and even mismatched socks, take a "Sock Selfie", post it to social media and tag us to show your support for World Down Syndrome Day. We invite you to use the global campaign #'s: #LotsofSocks #WDSD21 #WorldDownSyndromeDay.
We are so proud of our community and the level of participation each year. The race for the Golden Sock Award has been a tight one every year and we expect the same this year.

A huge thank you to our models, our local volunteer photographer Jamie Edwards of JME Photography , and all of the participating businesses. We look forward to another great year filled with fun, creative and supportive window displays!
