What’s Your New Year’s Inclusion Resolution?

As we ring in the New Year, many of us make resolutions, goals or pledges. For 2022, we encourage you to think about what you can do to make individuals with disabilities feel welcome – whether that is in your classroom, church, workplace, business, sports team or in the community. You can join more than 800,000 other people from around the world who have shared how they are bringing inclusion to life on the Spread the Word: Inclusion website. Make a resolution for the year ahead and then, take action! Need ideas on how to include others with a disability? Why not try to:

  • Make a commitment to sit with someone who is alone at church

  • Take the time to have a longer, more authentic conversation with someone when you run into them in the community

  • Take a course to make your organization more welcoming and accessible to everyone

  • Become a volunteer with CLKD and share your hobby with someone

  • Learn about the benefits of hiring employees with disabilities

The actions we take for inclusion may be unique to us, but they contribute to a shared global goal. Our individual actions can combine to create a new and inclusive world. Make your pledge at: https://www.spreadtheword.global/pledge
